Detail:

This course is for everyone who works with a child or children and can benefit from understanding how the designated Lead Professional works with the child and family directly, and how other agencies best work with them.

The Lead Professional has responsibility for coordinating the multi-agency network of practitioners working with a child or young person and their family, and all communication goes through them. Understanding this role, the legality, referral thresholds and information sharing, will deepen your understanding of effective multi-agency working for better outcomes.

By attending this training, you will come away with:

  • An understanding of the role, responsibilities and function of the Lead Professional.
  • An understanding of how the Lead Professional works with all the agencies involved and how they support the child or young person, and their family, as the central point of contact.
  • An understanding of what to expect from the Lead Professional, and what they can expect from you.
  • Knowledge of legal aspects.
  • Transferable knowledge and confidence about information sharing, communication and good organisational practices to achieve effective multi-agency working for better outcomes.
  • The confidence to make a good referral and how to respond to low-level and serious concerns.

This fits well with the Early Help Assessment (EHA) - a practical what, why, when and how for early support and better outcomes training which the Safeguarding Partnership also deliver, and which can be booked on this platform.
