Who Should Attend?: This course is designed for anyone who works (paid or voluntary) with children, young people or families in Brent.
Description:
This session will provide a clear understanding of information sharing requirements under the London Safeguarding Children Procedures. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss concerns, gain insights from others, and address common misconceptions related to GDPR.
Effective information sharing is essential for safeguarding and central to carrying out the role of the Lead Professional, and working effectively with them.
Note: The Bent Safeguarding Partnership also provides training on the role of the Lead Professional
Learning objectives
- Gain a clear understanding of the London Safeguarding Children Procedures and the relationship with GDPR.
- Understand the expectations and responsibilities when requesting or sharing safeguarding information about children.
- Build confidence in determining when information can be shared and when to challenge others to do so.
- Recognise the risks associated with failing to share safeguarding information.
- Learn how, when, and with whom safeguarding information should be shared across agencies.
