This multi-agency training will examine the reasons for a reluctance to engage, or resistance, including the impact of lived experience. Together you will:
- Describe what leads some individuals to be reluctant, resistant and hostile towards intervention by agencies;
- Understand that the safety and welfare of the child or children is paramount and the importance of hearing and recording the voice of the child(ren) at all times;
- Understand how to engage with individuals to lessen the likelihood of resistance or aggression;
- Recognise signs of disguised compliance, coercive control and other strategies used to deter professionals, and its implications for risk assessment;
- Examine your own and professional responses by other agencies to conflict or hostility and the impact on the worker and professional networks
